We are a group of amateur singers who come from many different backgrounds and stages of life. The one thing we all have in common is a great love of singing and music. ‘Making beautiful music together’ is hugely rewarding, as is the social aspect to our group.

We are looking for new choir members, so if this is something that interests you – please get in touch with us!

The Philharmonia Choir of Cape Town has inspired amateur singers and audiences for 50 years, combining musical excellence with creativity through its performances. The Choir greatly contributes to the musical culture of Cape Town and depends on the commitment of its members, as well as the support of its loyal audiences and followers. There are various ways that you can get involved and support the choir.

The Philharmonia Choir of Cape Town is one of Cape Town’s oldest and best loved choral groups singing oratorio and popular works. We are a dedicated choir of more than 120 amateur singers that seeks to enrich the musical landscape of our city.

Last night’s performance of The Armed Man was one of the most moving and magnificent events I have ever experienced. What a fantastic achievement for all involved!
I came home wishing that everyone in the world could see and hear that, so that there might be some chance that mankind could change their ways.
A thousand congratulations to you all.

Jill Dower

Such a privilege to be able to sing with you as a guest and to sing again under the baton of Vetta Wise. Thanks to all who helped to put on this splendid event and who made me feel so welcome.
